Promising start to the new XC season

With a win in the UK XC Winter League and a spectacular flight of 144 km in Norway two XC Serial Team pilots show that they are up for the 2012 XC season.

Both XC Serial Team pilots’ form is rising sharply – with a victory in the UK XC Winter League and a sensational flight in the far north Triantafyllos Gkikopoulos and Tom Salamonsen make a successful start to the 2012 XC Season.

With flights of 121 km, 102 km and 92 km Triantafyllos chased off the competition with his OMEGA 8 and won the UK XC Winter League, lasting from November 2011 to March 2012.

With a sensational, and in Norway this time of year exceptional flight, Tom Salamonsen made a straight distance of 144km on April 3rd, despite horrible conditions: a cold polar wind blew and at 2700m it was minus 20ºC. By comparison the next best flight in Norway on the same day made 40 km... In this stultifying cold Tom couldn’t take any pictures, but the following Videoclip, from the Easter weekend in Norway, gives an idea of the flying conditions in the land of Fjords.

ADVANCE congratulates both pilots on their successful flights!
