Thanks to its predictable take-off behaviour, high passive safety and great stability, the EPSILON 5 is ideally suited for powered paragliding. The 25, 28 and 31 sizes equipped with paramotor risers have been approved for powered flight by the German Ultralight Flying Association (DULV).

The EPSILON 5’s paramotor risers are convertible and may be used both for powered and free flight. That’s why the risers are provided with two mounting points, 10 cm apart, the higher point being intended for powered flight. The fitted trimmers enable the take-off behaviour to be optimised in light wind conditions and balance out the reactive torque of the paramotor. In addition, the flying speed can be adjusted at any time. For free flight, the trimmers can be clipped into the karabiner hooks and secured. Furthermore, the EPSILON 5 paramotor risers are equipped with a conventional speed system that enables a considerable increase in speed in normal flight. (see picture of risers)
The EPSILON 5 equipped with paramotor risers has DULV certification in unaccelerated flight for sizes 25, 28 and 31. The approved weight ranges can be seen in the table below. The DULV standard calls for a compatibility test for each paramotor model. The EPSILON 5’s DHV certification is also valid for free flight with the paramotor risers, provided the canopy is hooked into the lower mounting point and the trimmers are secured and hooked in.
The required test flights were carried out with a standard paramotor (Walkerjet). Other paramotor models can be certified by the manufacturer or at the DULV on completion of compatibility and handling tests.
