| Paul Underwood notches up the next SIGMA 7 victory
08.07.09 | Australian Pilot Paul Underwood wins the Sport Class of the Rat Race in Woodrat Mountain, Oregon USA. It was an incredible competition with 6 consecutive days of racing and some epic conditions for Woodrat Mountain. The 7th day was cancelled after many pilots were shot off the launch pad to over 13,000 feet where they encountered strong winds. Many people broke and then re-broke the site altitude record. 6 tasks with a nominal average of 41.5 kms and 30% of the field in goal; not a bad week! The evening mentoring sessions, meals and parties made this a very special event. Bill Belcourt won the Rat Race for the second time in 3 years. Bill was flying his Boomerang 6 and led almost the entire competition. In the Sport Class Paul Underwood won the competition on his SIGMA 7. Three SIGMA 7s in the top 8 of the Sport Class - not a bad result - and we at ADVANCE are at least as happy as the pilots who flew there. Congratulations from Thun to all the pilots!
