| A double World Cup victory for ADVANCE yet again
24.07.07 | Chrigel Maurer and Andy Aebi secure first and second places at the World Cup event in Como (Italy) – another double victory for ADVANCE - but in another league from the previous PWC in Spain. Following the ADVANCE successes at Ager, Spain, a month ago, where Chrigel took podium position one, and ADVANCE’s Eliane Ueltschli was victorious in the women’s arena, Chrigel came out top at the PWC event in Como, Italy, last week, closely followed by Andy Aebi. Old campaigner Christian Tamegger finished third. Yet again, Chrigel could turn in a remarkably consistent performance. Chrigel summarized the conditions: “We flew something like 500 km in the week; more kilometres than have ever been flown in a world cup before. We could see thunderstorm clouds high above the Alps, but over thundery Lake Como there wasn’t a wisp of it!! The flatland thermals were working really well, and this made for some very interesting tasks of between 73 and 107 km.” These two ADVANCE pilots usually row in the same crew - together with their boss Kari Eisenhut they make up the ADVANCE test team, and use their competition experience daily developing serial products. The most conspicuous of these is the high-end performance Omega 7. The name ADVANCE goes with new technology, tested in competition; but not just in high performance gliders - in beginners’ wings like the new ALPHA 4 as well. Needless to say, Chrigel and Andy both played significant parts in producing the ALPHA 4. Chrigel and Andy currently lead the PWC 2007 rankings. Here at ADVANCE we can’t wait to see how they get on in the next PWC event in Turkey.. Resultate <- Atrás, a la lista de noticias |
