PARAMOTOR magazine: delighted with the ALPHA 5
23.04.12 | The ALPHA 5 is impressive – not just for free flying, but with the motor as well. Sascha Burkhardt tested the wing and loved it.
A good feeling from A to Z, from takeoff to landing. As the enthusiastic clamour of the free flight pilots’ positive response dies away, the ALPHA 5 now also earns its laurel leaves as a Paramotor wing. Sascha Burkhardt extensively tested the latest ADVANCE wing for PARAMOTOR Magazine.
The ALPHA 5 made an impression straight from takeoff: “The starting behaviour of the ALPHA 5 is a dream. Even in adverse weather conditions it would be difficult to mess up your launch with the wing, especially as it will lift you off quickly and is very roll stable during take-off”, decided Burkhardt.
In the air the wing is hardly subject to swinging. “When the pilot initiates a turn, the ALPHA 5 relatively quickly and easily starts to turn. This is very good handling for paramotor flight”, maintains Sascha Burkhardt. “In fact the wing feels very stable and acts in unified way; you can trust it blindly.”
The PARAMOTOR Magazine confirms that the glider lives up to its promise: “The ADVANCE ALPHA 5 is one of the wings that makes you wonder why people fly gliders with a higher rating. Despite the high passive safety of the wing it is absolutely not boring, even for pilots who have progressed from their first flights”, is the conclusion.
