Cross Country Mag: Kudos for the IMPRESS 3
23.01.12 | After some thorough testing Marcus King is full of praise: in his view the success of the IMPRESS 3 results from the combination of Swiss engineering, innovation, and a love affair with detail.
Testing in detail for Cross Country Magazine, Marcus King declares himself impressed by the whole concept of the IMPRESS 3: “Elsewhere the harness is full of nice touches, the attention to detail that makes it stand out as a quality product.”
In his report King confirms what ADVANCE in its harness-adjustment films emphasise: That the IMPRESS 3 is correctly adjusted is of crucial importance, and this is the key to the highest comfort in flight. “Once set up correctly the harness feels incredibly comfortable. You feel completely supported from your shoulders all the way down your back to your upper legs, as the harness wraps around you. This gives you a reassuring feel in turbulence. I found the harness still comfortable after a few hours in the air, with no obvious squeeze points.”
This further development of the LIGHTNESS concept impressed Marcus King: “ADVANCE have successfully taken their LIGHTNESS and made it available to everyone who liked the concept but was unwilling to compromise on certified back protection, or the gentle handling that the LIGHTNESS materials demand. The weight saving also means it’s great for travelling with.”
Marcus King’s conclusions after intensive test flying: “It’s not really surprising that everywhere I took the test unit pilots gathered round to inspect it. If you’re in the market for a new pod harness, don’t let the radical seatboard-less design put you off, and make sure you have this one on your list to try.“
