4th place at the World Championship for Swiss young star Andy Aebi

10.03.07 | Andy Aebi comes fourth at the Worlds in Manilla on his OMEGA Proto, and Chrigel Maurer loses his place on the podium in the last task.

Once again at such a big event, a very experienced pilot was able to get the best out of the conditions, with Bruce Goldsmith winning the competition. In fourth place was Andy Aebi; Chrigel Maurer was placed eleventh, and the old war-horse Andy Hediger finished in 29th position.  The final results may not have fulfilled the expectations of our Team ADVANCE competitors, but if you consider the tricky conditions that the competition took place in, we see this result in a positive light and are happy to have such a great team.

Congratulations to the new champion and to all pilots!

The 10th FAI Paragliding World Championships - Manilla 2007 will not be the most remembered in history.  This honour is still held by the 1999 championships in Austria with only two valid tasks, and no official world champion title!  However if you consider that there has not been an equal run of bad weather in the last ten years in this region, you will agree that the participants were not fortunate with the conditions!

Here you will find a report about the changing fortunes of our pilots, the result, and more information about the Worlds.
