Happy New Year
28.12.06 | ADVANCE is looking back at a very successful 2006 and would like to thank all the people who have been part of this success.
Many enthusiastic pilots have given us a lot of positive and valuable feedback about our products. This is great motivation -encouraging us to continue our way and to go on producing well engineered products as a leader in this industry. There’s nothing finer than making paragliders – the very fabric is the tool that gives us flight and enables us to experience the highest emotions.
From an achievements point of view, there was much to celebrate in 2006. Our pilots have been able to continue this success story impressively:
- 366 ADVANCE pilots flew a total of 78,344 km (enough to fly twice around our planet)! Thanks to this marvellous result these pilots won the OLC Brand Ranking as they did the previous year. In the Swiss Ranking they won the place 1 – 3
- Chrigel Maurer notched up another great achievement and became the first pilot in the history of paragliding to win the Overall World Cup twice in succession. Karin Appenzeller won the ladies final classification. It looks like they are a real paragliding dream couple!
- Team ADVANCE Pilots Chrigel and Ewa Wisnierska won the silver Medals at the European Championship.
- Last but by no means least, the world records with a paramotor by Ramón Morillas: 951 km with the EPSILON 5 over the entire Iberian Peninsula and the Pyrenees, and a new altitude world record with a paramotor reaching the altitude of 6102 m with his OMEGA 7.
The message at the heart of our current ad campaign is that we wish all pilots around the globe a chance to rejoice in the passion and emotions of flight. We would like to thank all our pilots, employees and team members for their continued trust in our company.
