In this year’s World Cup round in Sopot, Bulgaria, Helmut “Heli” Eichholzer and his OMEGA finished ahead of Tomas Brauner and Jean Marc Caron, and thus won the event! Dimov Orlin, our Bulgarian team pilot, made use of his local knowledge to come 6th. Kim Jinoh, another ADVANCE team pilot from Korea, followed him in 7th place. Stefan Schmocker won two tasks, and this contribution enabled the ADVANCE team to share equal first Team Prize place with the Gin Factory Team. Sincere congratulations to all our team pilots!
The PWC circus travels to Brazil next, and Team ADVANCE couldn’t be better placed: Andy Aebi leads the overall scoring and Stefan Schmocker follows in a promising 4th place. We are, of course, eager to see whether ADVANCE can build on past success and win the overall title for the fourth time in a row
ADVANCE gives a lot of support and encouragement to developing talent in the OLC, the XC Open and the Serial Class. That having been said, however, the PWC is and will remain the supreme class in our sport. It is from here that our development team has always gained its most valuable feedback, which historically, and currently with the SIGMA 7, has directly influenced our production gliders. Naturally it pleases us just as much as our team pilots that this part of our glider development continues to glitter with so many top results
