2005 Swiss Championship
25.05.05 | The ADVANCE Team is the big winner of the 2005 Swiss championship. Even if the title goes to Stefan Morgentaler, our pilots have clearly dominated the race with the victory in both tasks ! The difference between Stephan and Steve Cox is 9 points only, and 2 points between Steve and Chrigel Maurer ! With such small differences, we can imagine the suspense in case a 3rd task would have been flown ... The competition took place in Lenk, in Bernese Oberland, only 40 km south of Thun.
Unfortunately due to the bad weather two tasks only were valid, but twice 70 km in great conditions have been possible. It was really a great competition, specially the second one from Lenk to Gstaad and landing in the centre of Interlaken. Steve Cox, the 2005 World Champion and winner of the task, said that Lake Thun seemed very small 2700 m beneath on the way to Interlaken !
