Heli Eichholzer wins Boardairline 2008
30.07.08 | Two ADVANCE pilots, Heli Eichholzer and Stefan Sindelka, finished the
Boardairline 2008 Extreme Paragliding Competition on the winners’ podium.
Boardairline 2008 means just this: within 33 hours competitors have to get as far as possible from the starting point, with a paraglider – in flight or on foot - and get back to the start again before the 33 hours run out. Success in this competition requires the physical and tactical performance of a champion. 32 athletes from three nations (Austria, Germany and Slovenia) were available on Juli 26 and 27 in Werfenweng (AT) to take on this challenge.
ADVANCE team pilot Heli Eichholzer won and Stefan Sindelka, Spälti OMEGA 7 team member, came third: they are well entitled to celebrate. Heli - known as a 2005 Red Bull X-Alps "finisher" - has written an interesting report of the ordeal which can be downloaded here as a PDF.
