British Championships 2008
02.09.08 | John Ellison and Dave Smart finish on the podium of the British Paragliding Championship 2008.
The 3rd and final round of the British Championships in St Andre les Alps saw John Ellison crowned serial vice champion on his Omega 7, finishing 9th overall in the British Championship and 23rd overall in the St Andre Open ahead of many open class wings.
3 good tasks were flown in strong conditions (John reported an 11.5m/s climb!) with 3 tasks of 70.6, 61.6 and 99.5 task – the famous ‘Dormilouse run’ from St Andre to St Vincent and back. The organisation was second to none with excellent task setting and fast retrieves.
Dave Smart finished 3rd - (1st LTF-2) in the Sports Class on his Sigma 7.
