Successful OMEGA 8 cross country flights!

12.07.10 | Enthusiastic feedback about the OMEGA 8 is reaching us by the day! Notable distances have already been achieved with this brand new high end cross country wing!

The feedback from the new OMEGA 8 varies between enthusiastic and blown away – to the great delight of our development and test team! All this positive response is a genuine acknowledgement that their tireless effort in developing this high end cross country glider has paid off!

Again and again pilots mention the good-natured and predictable flying character; very well-harmonised pitching behaviour, direct and precise handling or the light and effective speed system.

Recent cross country flights
  • Greg Blondeau, ADVANCE test pilot, has set a new FAI-triangle regional record in the Vosges (France)! You can see his track here:  Greg’s flight in the CFD
  • Thomas Kämpfer, a Swiss SIGMA 7 Pilot, has flown a new personal best during an OMEGA 8 demo test flight, by completing a 190 km FAI triangle in Fiesch at the end of June! Read his comments (see translation below) and see the track here:   Thomas’ flight in the Swiss XC Contest
Congratulations all round!

Are you are also keen to make impressive cross countries and set new personal bests? Be further inspired by the  OMEGA 8 Film  or, even better, find out about the new OMEGA 8 for yourself and book a test flight.  Reserve a test flight here

The first OMEGA 8 25 size test wings are ready at the moment! The 29 and 23 will follow in the middle of August.

Translation of Thomas Kämpfers comment on Swiss XC Contest:
"One cool jalopy! Manoeuvrable – and the best thing: turbulence is indicated early, so you can react to it well. From the beginning I felt good under this wing. It actually flies quite like a Sigma 7, only faster and even a trace more agile (and with a lighter speed system). It’s a pity I didn’t get the 200 km, but there was some wind in the Saas valley and Mattmark looked less inviting to me. Thanks to Kari for the loan of the wing. Today the speed was well worth the money."
